ELECTRICAL PACKAGES

LEVEL 1 ELECTRICAL PACKAGE

Plug In Electrical (Pigtail) Price: $200

The Level 1 Electrical Package offers you a very basic way of running electric to your shed. With the pigtail package, you can simply run an outside electrical cord to a box on side of your shed and "plug and play". You do not have to hard-wire an electrical line. This option is very basic and only includes the following:

  • 1 Plug in Adapter (outside the shed)

  • 1 Regular Outlet (Inside the Shed)

  • 1 Interior Light

  • 1 Light Switch

This package is predetermined, as you cannot take away anything or add any electrical options to this package. If you need more electrical options, you will have to select the Level 2 Electrical Package. This option is not offered in our Cottages.

LEVEL 2 ELECTRICAL PACKAGE

100 or 200 AMP Breaker Panel Box

Price depends on the number of options

(Avg Cost: $650-$850 Panel Box, 1 Interior Light, 1 Light Switch, 4 Outlets)

The Level 2 Electrical Package offers you an upgraded way of running electric to your shed with more options. With the breaker panel box package, the customer is responsible for the final electrical line hookup to your power source, after your shed is delivered. This is usually done by an electrician or someone with electrical knowledge.

Most people will run a line from the panel box on the shed to the panel box to the main home, or to an electrical box to a utility pole (if applicable). This option gives you more power and gives you more options as far as the number of interior lights, and power outlets.

With this option, you can do the following:

  • Choose between 100 AMP (standard) or 200 AMP (up-charge cost) panel box

  • Add multiple regular or GCFI interior outlets as needed

  • Add multiple interior lights as needed

  • Add multiple light switches as needed

  • Add multiple exterior lights as needed

  • Add multiple GCFI exterior outlets as needed

  • Cottage Buildings ONLY: Add A/C Unit or Baseboard Heat Unit.

Disclaimer: If you are needing to pull a lot of current, it is recommended to upgrade to the 200 AMP breaker box. Members of Build A Shed are not licensed electricians and only make recommendations based on very limited common knowledge. Build A Shed recommends that you consult a licensed electrician, as needed.
